The key idea of the Kurinuki tea set is to craft pottery spontaneously so that it looks “alive.” For this purpose, I create raw and sculptural teapot, and the tumbler avoids refined and smooth finishing with the addition of natural elements, which in combination create an organic duo.

Kurinuki is an ancient Japanese technique that consists of a long carving of clay and lasts from several hours to several days. The difficulty lies in creating a uniform wall of the product and preventing breaks during firing. The handle of the kettle is made of wood, which is washed by water and created by nature itself. It repeats the shape of the hand, which causes tactile pleasure.

Kettle size: H = 7.5 inch / 20 cm, volume: 750 ml
Mugs/Tumbler size: H = 3.5 inch / 9 cm, volume: 200 ml (2 pcs.)

All my works are sculpted by hand and may differ from the stated sizes by 0.3 inches / 1 cm.

The tea set is made of stone clay, calcined at 1220° C / (2282° f), and safe for food, certified (lead-free) Eco glaze, so my dishes are light and strong, safe for daily use. It can be used in microwaves and dishwashers. The manufacture of all works is used 100% solar energy, so all dinnerware is environmentally friendly. By buying my stoneware, you are helping to save our planet, which we have only once!
